Choreological Laboratory (CoreoLab)
The Choreological Laboratory (CoreoLab) develops specific methodologies of the field of Dance Studies. It aims to study the movement of the dancing body, its languages, codes and imaginaries. Practice-in-Research methods and research in the arts are applied, as well as diverse Digital Humanities instruments related to audiovisual, extended reality and virtual reality.
It gathers the work by an interdisciplinary group of researchers trained in dance, art history, musicology, audiovisual communication, fine arts, theater studies, choreography and pedagogy, humanities, philosophy and engineering.
It is a pioneering research space in Spain in a field that is still incipient in the scientific structures of our country that seeks to situate the CSIC on the path followed by other research centers and international universities dedicated to Dance Studies.
Conditions of service
The Choreological Laboratory (CoreoLab) provides services to research projects on the history of dance developed by the Department of Art History and Heritage, Art History and Visual Culture Research Group, as well as any other group that requires the infrastructures and methodologies offered.
